So this family is pretty special to me. This is my husband's "aunt" (really his Mom's cousin, but you know) and her daughter and family. These guys have always shown me unconditional love and welcoming and you know how rare that can be when you are the in-law. They were planning a trip to the beach and wanted my whole husband's family to join in, so I stayed with them with the kids for the week they were at the beach. My kids absolutely adore this little guy and still call him "baby Ben" endearingly. We had a lot of sharing opportunities with toys and A LOT of fun at the beach in the waves and the sand that week.
Talking about Ben...he is a wide open toddler that loves people, exploring and running! You may notice that there are just a little too many of him being swung by his parents and that's just because it was one of the only ways to keep him in one place with a smile! This little guy loves the ocean without fear, it is precious to watch!
Since they live in Tennessee they don't get to the beach as often as they would like so having some pictures to remember the moment is important to them. I am glad that I was able to capture a few of those moments!
For the photography fans: these were taken with digital and film. The film images were taken on a Canon 1n with an 85mm lens on Kodak Portra 400. I typically have been using Fuji 400h and I think I prefer those softer pastel tones over the Portra's golden ones. I may have to do some more experimenting! The scans were processed by The Find Lab.
