I grew up in northern Michigan and my parents still live there so we make multiple trips a year to visit. I want my kids to be able to enjoy the beauty and wilderness that Michigan has and also to be able to know and spend time with their grandparents. Usually we go up in April or May and then again in August (so we can catch the amazing county fair). This year we were up in April and unfortunately it had been unseasonably cold (we packed snow pants!!).
We started out our trip with Daddy and had a quick visit with friends in KY and then headed to Chicago for the next couple days. I had big plans to take A TON of pictures but reality was that I had a broken toe and it was snowing and frigid for all of our Chicago vacation so the cameras did not leave the hotel room. After dropping Daddy off at the airport we headed to MI and spent a week with my sister in Lansing and then a week with my parents up north. The weather was cool and rainy off and on but that didn't stop us from getting outside and enjoying ourselves!
Again, I pretty much only took these pictures with my real cameras, maybe I will do better next time! These are mostly film with a few digital thrown in. For the photography nerds: I used a Canon 1n with Fuji 400h film with films scans processed by The Find Lab.
